And now I know how bad my english is. Couldn't understand you without looking into the dictionary :) And it was just one word... Shit, I'm weak... I should really study more...
Being part-time dork is a great ability too :) Not anyone can do that :)
It's not a matter of bad English. If you don't actually use those kind of words, why would you know them? Besides, I learn not to care to much if what I'm saying sometimes sounds like "Kali mieć krowa" =)
I like my English in general, I don't think I need to speak like Shakespeare, but my teachers do. And they're trying to stuck into my head as many difficult words and phrasal verbs and idioms as possible. And still I know so little. So what's the point?
I think that I can always use a dictionary. Or, if I can't, ask about the meaning. It's not that hard, and I seriously don't believe that average British knows half of that rubbish they tell us to learn...
Btw, I read e-mails my dad receives from one Scottish guy and this is hardcore :)
Well, I have no problems with my English either :) it's funny, but there are days when I use more English than Polish =) I've had maybe two years of an actual course (I'm not counting high school and uni, since I don't think you can learn much when it's 20-something people in the class). The rest is just years of using it daily :)
Well, my English abilities are only from school (as for now) and it probably won't change until university. And in my class this yeat i've had 17 people in my English group, but still it was a lot cause we spoke mainly in English, Polish was really rare. Same on other lessons. So school also can help learning. But yet I think the want to much from us.
I'm only on my firs one, actually. I can't really read off screen for prolonged period of time, so I prefer to print it. But I'm starting my vacation soon and then I'll be able to go through the stories much quicker =)
