A week off work, and my eyes didt'n get better yet. If anything, they got worse. I can spend like 10 minutes in front of a computer, before they start watering.
Forget TV (good thing there's nothing interesting there), and I can't even put my new dvd to a proper use, since I'm not really able to concentrate on what I'm watching most of the time.
Pretty much the same with the books or the prints with fics.
I guess I should go to ophthalmologist, before it gets more serious.
On a bit brighter (and connected) note - there's a sell-out in a pretty big second-hand bookstore, and I plan to go tomorrow. For 30 PLN (approx. 10 USD) you can take as many books as you can carry. I hope I'll find something interesting there.
Oh, and I have one more thought why you-know-who in season 4 of SGA is a disaster.
I tried to remember, if there was one anyone, any scientist, who could (or rather - was "allowed"), to work with Carter as an equal.
What have we got? Doctor Lee - who, most of the time (or any, actually - if memory serves) can't come with any useful ideas.
And Felger (+ his friend), who just... well, basing on what we saw, I have no idea how anyone could want them in Stargate program.
All other scientists are pretty much wallpaper. Those, who have names, don't have faces, and the other way round.
And when they brought Rodney for the first time, it was only for showing, again, how wonderful and invaluable, Carter is.
I'm not counting Daniel, especially since throughout the years, they did made his sciantific input less important. Or important only when Carter can use it (and get all the credit). Except when she's not there (that's why I like first few eps of season 9 - it's Daniel in his element, like he used to be).
Sure, Carter occasionally worked with people from other planets, but it was more like one-night stands (so to speak). And sometimes an Asgard.
But to actually see her having someone like Zelenka is for Rodney? No sir, no way.
And in the end I came with only one name - Carter herself, the one from other realities. You think it bodes well for the upcoming season?...
How the hell am I suppose to believe, that after ten years, the writers actually will be able to show anyone that Carter saving the day? And not making fun of all other scientists that "work" with her on a daily basis?
Can you? Because I can't.
Oh, well, two more weeks, and we'll get first taste, howbad it's gonna be this time.
