"The Shrine" (no spoilers)

I didn't even get to the opening credits and already it's McShepiest episode ever.

Also, I want to cry.

This is what they've killed SGA for. "Beverly Hills 90210" in space.

I've been reading comments on Joe M's blog and cracked up completely at one suggestion for the SGA movie title:

"Dude, where's my hive?"

I'm still laughing =)

At least, in this case.

Also, I'm pissed.

SGA cancelled

Well, damn. Not the news I'd like to wake up to.

And yes, it's not a secret that I wasn't happy with the show for quite some time now. But it still sucks.

Luckily, we have some fantastic writers and artist in the fandom. And most of the time they're much, much better than the actual creators of the show.

Edit: I really planned to do some work today. But now I think I'll go back to [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang.

Someone, please kick my butt and tell me to actually start working?

'Cos all I've been doing today is reading [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang .

Little SGA rambling

I really liked "Ghost in the Machine". I also very much liked "The Daedalus Variations".
And that's making me happy - two good eps in a row. Solid sci-fi. Just like we used to have in the first two seasons. Later - not so much.
The show's been deteriorating, for at least last 1,5 seasons. Which makes me really sad, 'cos I'm still considering SGA my main fandom.
I don't feel like re-watching most of the episodes after "Allies". Sure, there are few, that I loved, but overall, I couldn't name most of them, or remember the plot :(

I don't have any hope, that those last two eps mean the show is back on right track. If I'm wrong, then of course I'll be more than happy to admit it. But I'd rather stay a pessimist and be pleasantly surprised. If.

Oh, and in the scene?...

John is so checking Rodney's ass!

So, is it just me or was there really a lot of "100 best SGA stories ever" list (posted around here) lately?

I usually skip them, for various reasons (and I voiced them already elsewhere).

But if I was to made one myself, it would probably be "A list of fics I absolutely loved but will never read again, because they hurt so much I actually hate them".

Hm...

Disclaimer: no reccer or author was hurt (or intended to hurt) during writing this post.

I'm pretty anal about proper warnings for the fics. You know: death, rape/non-con, specific kink. And "unrequited".

I've just spent few hours, reading through 120+ pages, only to find out that at the end it's still "only one wants". To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.
The thing is - it was really good stuff. Well written, good plot, lots of Rodney-whump and Sheppard comforting, great team moments.
But I was in the mood for some happy-ending fics (McShepy way happy ending). Any other day, when I'm in proper mood and if I knew what to expect, I'd be happy to read it and able to appreciate it properly. Today, I shrugged it off as a waste of time...

And now it's too late and my eyes are too tired to read anything else.

I've watched "Trinity", with Martin Wood and Damian Kindler commentary, for the first time. And I kinda have problem with what they (well, mostly Damian) said.

Holy shit...

I just watched "Miller's Crossing".
Fantastic episode in general.
But from a point of view of a McShep fan - total and absolute orgasm.
I can't actually believe that I saw, what I saw...

I'm re-watching BSG. And only now I have discovered, how much better is for me to watch a show, when I'm not emotionally invested in it.
It's a lot easier to ignore plot holes and any other questionable stuff the writes may come up with.

I'm unable to do the same with SGA.
The plot holes seems huge as a barn.  The  characters sometimes act so stupid and make so idiotic calls, it's embarrassing to watch.
And I constantly worry, how much of  a clown  they're  gonna make of Rodney this time.

Of course, I'm oversimplifying here (for one, the quality of writing is - unfortunately for SGA - a lot better in BSG). But it's still a bit sad, don't you  think? That I can't fully enjoy my number 1 show, because I like it too much.

We are almost at the half of the season. But I have a feeling like not much actually happened. Comparing to the same time in seasons one and two - it's like things now happen in a "slow motion". Don't get me wrong - watching SGA is still a treat for me. Each weekend I'm making sure I have enough time to watch it in peace. It's just - I think I'm getting less and less of what I hoped for.
Eh, it's probably fault of all those fantastic writers in fandom.
You spoiled me, guys.
But I don't really care that much, please feel free to keep doing this ;-)
