It's alive!!!

My comp works again!!!

Out of sheer desperation, I've taken it apart this afternoon. And when I put it back together, it started working! Just like that.

*does a happy dance*

Oh, I have no doubts, poor thing is still dying. Runs at 3/4 of normal speed, I can't watch any movies (I get constant sound "hiccups"), it freezes every once in a while, it takes good 20 seconds to open even the smallest e-mail.

It's still better than nothing.

Perhaps you should replace it then. I had to do that on my previous PC - it's not that hard to do, and HDs are pretty cheap at the moment.

Definitely cheaper =)

But it looks like I may get a new one after all, as a combined gift for my birthday/Christmas. So maybe I won't have to check if I'm capable of major comp repairs =)
