"Adrift"

That was one damn good start for the new season. I’m not too fond of the multi-part eps, but I don’t think it would’ve work, if they wrapped it up in just one episode. It would have looked too easy.

Everything went pretty fast, yet I didn’t get the feeling that it was rushed. The transitions were amazingly smooth.

I can’t actually decide who I loved more – Rodney or John.

Sheppard so visibly lost his “laid back” attitude, that I was actually shocked for a moment. He was showing feelings! And he looked a little lost and a lot of uncertain, while talking to Rodney about who’s in charge. It was so good to finally see this part of him.

Rodney – eh, I think I’m even more in love with him, if that’s even possible. He was in his element. Coming up with ideas (or not – and admitting as much), while in the same time predicting certain death. Loved how he and Radek finished each other sentences. Loved concern for Elizabeth and how he stood up to Sheppard. Loved that he actually apologized for making that decision alone.

And I absolutely, totally loved that he finally called Sheppard – John…

About damn time :D

The John and Rodney show is truly back. I missed them.

Radek was brilliant.

Ronon… I’m not his biggest fan, most of the time I don’t really care if he’s there. But his scene with Elizabeth was fantastic.

Now, you all know I’m not a fan of Sam Carter (to put it mildly). But, seriously, what was the reason she even was in this episode? The scenes with her weren’t at all necessary. All of this could easily happen off screen. And – surprise, surprise - she managed to suggest it was Rodney’s fault they didn’t get to the designated planet. Ad she was like three minutes on screen. Something (maybe my natural pessimism) tells me, it’s how the things are gonna be this season…

Damn good episode. Tense and full of emotion, and the latter is not too common for SGA. And despite my dread of Carter, and the impact she’s going to have – I can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next.

He dazzled me and then cracked me up when he had success for a moment and then something else happened and he'd say "that lasted for like what a second?"

I laughed at this, too. And I was so happy that they didn't actually overdid this. What with the writers loving making total clown out of Rodney (too often).

I don't like Sam and the only thing I will say about her appearance on this episode --- she looks like she gained weight. :)

Heh, I noticed this, too - during second half of of SG-1's last season. :D
But then again (and to be fair) - in certain age is a lot harder to keep (or loose) the weight. I know something about this ;-)
