Merlin & stuff

One of Polish tv stations will show Merlin, starting tomorrow. Sadly, the review was less than positive. I suspect the guy who wrote it, is not a fangirl. But he knows nothing, right? We love our shiny, slashy show =)

I got a penalty ticket (how you call it in English?) in the bus today. Totally not fair, because my card is valid for another week. But the guy who was checking it said, that it wasn't signed properly. Bastard. I'm not going to pay, of course. But now I have to go to the transportation office and clear this. I'm so not happy about it.

My wrists are worse. I have an appointment on Monday, and I really hope it's not what I suspect it is :(

I owe [livejournal.com profile] tarlanx reply to the 5 things meme, and I was really going to this today. But my friend showed up and we are now finishing our second bottle of wine. So I'm afraid it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Btw - I'm writing this post just because we're taking a short break, so he can talk to one of his sort of-maybe-possibly girlfriends. Men... *snorts*

Also, I'm quite probably a little bit drunk =)

Oh, so unfortunately I'm not the only one who have seen this piece of shit in Wyborcza? I'm almost 100% sure the guy didn't bothered to see more than one episode and even try to understand it. I'm so fucking angry that "good" review still means beating up the movie or whatever just to show how independently thinking you are. I guess guy just wants to become another Paweł Felis who writes bullshit about every movie that is not in some weird language or reffers to some twisted and completely impossible to understand topic.

I'm sure Merlin will be popular despite the idiot review, and well done you for not paying the outrageous fine =)

Hope you had a good evening x

I just shrugged this off. I didn't really expected they "dare" to write something good, although I was hoping for more neutral review. I guess I'm just happy they decided to show it at all. TVP1 canceled first season of Who after only 5 episodes, after all. And I'm sure we can forget ever seeing Torchwood on our tv.

I decided to ignore this review completely. I'm just happy more people will have to chance to see Merlin.

And the evening was quite good, thanks =)

Nobody trusts reviews nowadays, internet and the mouth to mouth (aka forums) works wonders!

It will be a succes :D

I hope your writs are ok :3

I wouldn't worry about the review. It was poorly written, the guy tried to be funny but failed miserably. And I know I'm shallow but I think cute boys and swords will be enough to woo viewers:)

*lol* And what else we watch it for? Only for cute boys and swords =)

I've seen a few minutes of it - the voice-over was terrible...

How was it? the trans was good? :D

I only watched it for a while. I really can't stand voice-overs these days ;)
The translation wasn't too good, either. Or maybe it was just weirdness of hearing it in Polish ;)

[identity profile] arkray.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
So it was dubbed in the end? How did it sound? In comparison I mean, Bradley's voice is too ... joker-ish =)))

No, in Poland only kids movies get dubbed. But the voice-over (as in person reading translated dialogs) can be irritating too. Especially when you're used to hearing actors' voices.

[identity profile] arkray.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
What do you mean as voice over? O_O;;;; isn't that annoying? And that can be disabled right?

[identity profile] from-the-corner.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
*lol* No, it can't be disabled. No subtitles, no dubbing (except for the kids). I guess it's irritating mostly for people like me, that are used to watching everything in English. That's why I very rarely watch non-Polish movies on tv.

[identity profile] arkray.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Umm, but is it _one_ person reading all the script? same voice for all dialogs? sorry but that is like a CRIME, it is better only subtitles and keep the original voices.....

Oh, I totally agree. But otoh, I know that it can be difficult to some, to read subtitles.
