yet another 'evil machine alien things trying to kill humanity' season finale.

Actually, I don't have problems with that. It's sci-fi, after all :D
And, at least, DW ends its seasons with "proper" closing, not some crazy cliffhanger (like Stargate or BSG), which usually makes me eat my fingernails before new season starts ;-)
