It's a testimony on how much Daniel has changed in past years (translation: how little they care about the character and its integrity), that he didn't even try to stop Teal'c. That, like everybody else, he went with "I understand, I might do the same".

I miss the idealistic geek he once was. I miss how he and Jack evened themselves.
I don't know this Daniel anymore and it's really sad.
